Emily Burkhardt of Sherman was arrested on Feb. 8, after a police officer responding to the crash detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from Burkhardt's vehicle, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Christian Carroccio.
A search of her vehicle uncovered marijuana, a marijuana grinder, THC Wax, several amphetamine salts Adderall pills, as well as sheets of acid, Carroccio said.
Burkhardt was arrested and transported to the Danbury Police Department for processing. During the ride in, Burkhardt was seen moving and shifting in the back of the cruiser, he said.
During a check of the back seat area, the officer located two additional Adderall pills, which Burkhardt admitted to putting there.
She was charged with numerous counts of possession of drugs, interfering with a police officer and following too closely in relation to the crash.
Burkhardt is being held on a $25,000 bond.
